So, I made a whole lot of these vases, bisqued and glazed them. They looked great throughout each phase of the process. I open the kiln after a glaze firing, and WHOA!!!!!!!! They had cracks throughout the clay body. These all occured during the cooling phase of the glaze firing. Has anyone had this happen to them? All variables are the same except one: I bought a brand new bacth of clay when I made these vases. It’s the same type of clay body, though. The interior and exterior glazes are all the same chemical composition, the glaze firing is the same as all previous firings. Any ideas?
